[Committee/Group] Your Group needs your help!

THE NEW HALL WILL HELP SIGNIFY NEW BEGINNINGS FOR OUR GROUP AND WE NEED YOU TO BE A PART OF IT

Over the next 12 months will be an exciting time at our Scout Group. All sections have an action planned program for your kids to enjoy, and we of course we will be planning a big Thank you party as we move back into our new refurbished Scout Hall.

Now is an ideal time to get involved in supporting your children and their Scout Group. Whether you are completely new to Scouting, or you were a Scout yourself, you will probably enjoy sharing your kids’s Scouting experience. Scouting is a great way for families to participate in new adventures and activities together.

We are asking you as a parent to get involved. Some parents become Leaders, but there are also plenty of other ways that parents can get involved or contribute to our Group without committing to a uniformed role, and it doesn’t need to be a big time commitment either.

Our Scout Group operates a Parent Support Committee that supports the youth members and Leaders to run a successful Scout Group. We are about to undergo a re-structure of the committee and have a number of new positions to fill. We have various roles on offer including sub-committee chairs of fundraising, membership, community & communication and property & facilities. You can see by the committee structure chart below there is a large number of positions to be filled, so please seriously consider putting your name forward whether it be for a sub-committee chair, sub-committee member or one of the other roles currently vacant (highlighted in red).

It’s important our youth members have a say in the direction of the group, you will see that a number of positions are available to them, Scouts and Venturers are strong encouraged to apply for one of these vital roles.

Any help is welcome, and if you are unable to take a committee or supporting committee role, then you can support us in other ways. As a Parent we encourage you to help by:
– Showing interest and encouragement
– Providing transport to and from camps
– Attending fundraising events
– Offering support to the subcommittees as required
We’re always looking for someone to do little tasks around the place and once our new committee is up and running there will be even more opportunities that allow you to make a difference.

Don’t be afraid to offer your support as your help is vital to continue to ensure your Scout have fun and our Group continues to be successful and grow.
