Beach Night Fossil Hunt
MONDAY 19 Feb – 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Beach Rd, Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron entrance
NOTE: The early start time is to get the most from the tide and the sunlight!
The Cubs are heading down to the beach while the weather is warm to discover some fossils in our area. Joeys and their parents are more thank welcome to come along and stay for as long as you like.
Activity will include a walk to a secret Beaumaris beach, hunt for some fossils, discover the natural landform unique to the spot and the palaeontological significance of the site. A wander around the surrounding area, jetty and boat ramps will conclude the night.
Parents/siblings welcome, however any siblings will be under the care of parents directly. Facilities limited onsite. Access to the beach involves a rock scramble- (Parents not wanting to scramble down may chose to bring a picnic chair to watch from the grass, or go for a walk on the Bayside trail).
Wear: NO UNIFORM, enclosed runners/water shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. It is likely that they will accidentally get wet!
Bring: Water Bottle, small zip lock bag p/bucket for any treasure found Backpack, Towel, Torch and Jacket for after when the sun goes down.
MEET: At the Beach Rd entrance to Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron (top of the ramp). Directly across the road from 2 Beach Rd Beaumaris.
We are NOT meeting at the Hall. Meet at Beach! Drop Off and Pick off is at that location. Parents are more than welcome to stay.

PARKING: Best parking is at the Beach Rd end of Ray St or Cromer Rd.

As usual, friends are welcome to join, and we encourage all Joeys/Cubs to bring friends that are looking for adventure, fun, and good challenge and an inclusive environment! Just let your leaders know in advance so we can be sure to say hi.
