[Group] Annual Group Camp ’18

Don’t miss out on our Annual Group Camp – February 9th-11th, 2018

Come and join us at our huge Group Camp to kick off 2018 with the Joey, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers & Rovers.

This year we are in a new location which means some exciting new activities! We’ have added some new activities that should make the weekend a fantastic camp: Horse Riding, Tree Surfing, Maze adventure, Cycling (older Scouts, Venturers and Rovers), Fort Nepean, Fishing, Beach activities and more! You need to select your preference when registering so we can determine numbers.

Accommodation is both in cabins and tents, your section leader will advise you about what you need to bring.

On Sunday we are inviting families to pick up their Scouts from the campsite and enjoy lunch along with some activities at 12:30pm for a 3pm departure.

Cost: $65 for the camp plus your chosen activity

Drop off: at the Scout hall King George VI Reserve on Friday night

Pick up: Bay Park Scout Camp, Hearn Road, Mount Martha on Sunday from 12:30pm

Note: Joey’s are welcome to attend for the day on Saturday – more details on times and available activities for Joeys will be out soon, Parents will need to attend with their Joey Scout. The cost for Joeys is $10 plus the relevant activity.

Final camp information:

Friday night
Drop off your Scout at 6pm at the Scout hall King George VI Reserve on Friday night (9th February).

Sunday
If you’re joining us for lunch please arrive at Bay Park Scout Camp, Hearn Road, Mount Martha on Sunday at 12:30pm. We will be departing the campsite around 2:30pm.

If you’re not picking you Scout up from the campsite they can be picked up from the Scout Hall at 4:00pm.

Transport
Thanks to everyone that has offered to assist with transport to the camp, if you are required you will have received an email already with the details. If you haven’t received anything we don’t require you to drive this time so please volunteer to help again for the next camp.

Activities
Attached here is a final list of who is doing what activity on the camp, please ensure you bring the appropriate gear and forms as listed below:
Horse Riding:
Enclosed toe flat-soled shoes (eg. runners). No skirts or dresses. Signed Form – download here
Stand Up Paddleboarding:
Bathers, towel, hat & sunscreen. Signed Form – download here
Tree Surfing and Maze:
Enclosed toe flat-soled shoes (eg. runners). No skirts or dresses. Signed Form – download here
Kayaking:
Sunglasses, booties or thongs. Please wear beach attire and bring a change of clothes. Signed Form – download here

DON’T FORGET TO BRING THE RELEVANT SIGNED FORM – NO FORM, NO ACTIVITY

Gear
– Cubs are sleeping in cabins so don’t need to bring a stretcher or mat – a recommended gear list has been sent out from the Cub Leaders.
– Scouts & Venturers are sleeping in tents so bring the relevant additional gear – recommended gear list
– Everyone must bring a water bottle, Towel, sunscreen and a hat
– If you are keen to go on an early morning fishing adventure bring a fishing rod and fishing gear
